Advanced Shortcuts Composer is a neat free application that creates useful shortcuts for your most widely used applications. You can assign a pre-defined priority to each of them, and decide where in your system the shortcut will be stored (favorites, desktop, etc.). Besides, you can associate a keys combination to each shortcut, allowing you to launch it directly from your keyboard.
The shortcut creation process is extremely easy, thanks to a well-structured one-panel interface. From there, you just barely need to browse your folders and locate the desired executable file. Though the program will assign a default name to the shortcut based on the name of the executable file or the folder that contains it, you can always choose a different one. There are different places in your system where you can place your shortcut – your desktop (the default destination), the favorites folder of your Internet Explorer browser, the context menu, Windows startup, or Windows Start menu. On top of this, you can assign to your new shortcut a keys combination, following the pattern Ctrl+Alt+lower case letter.
Probably the main feature of this free tool is the possibility of applying a priority to the shortcut, which will determine how quickly the selected application will be launched and the amount of resources assigned to it. If you wish to change a given priority, or assign one to shortcuts not created using this tool, you can use the Shortcuts Patcher. This will open a small panel where you can drag any existing shortcut in order to apply (or change) its priority. more
